LUM PLACE OF MEMORY, TOLERANCE & SOCIAL INCLUSION
District of Miraflores, Lima, Peru
Peruvians themselves don’t have much violence in their nation’s history except for the 1980s and 90s in which terrorists and corrupt politicians shed the blood of thousands in the name of justice. LUM is a place that attempts to revisit this dark past. The museum was primarily financed by Germany, Sweden, other members of the EU, and the UN development program. Its exterior was completed in 2013 and executed by BAR- CLAY&CROUSSE Architecture studio. The structure is built like a terrace reaching out to the Pacific Ocean.
